Newsletter - May 2019

Happy May!

First I just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who has subscribed to this e-newsletter and decided to join us on this crazy journey that is North Brighton Community Garden.

To be honest with you all, months have rolled by and I've been constantly racking my brain over what news I can actually deliver... We had the green light to go ahead at our Bowker Oval site in mid-February and whilst it feels like so much has happened since then, it also feels like what we have most to show for our efforts is an empty space of dirt after clearing some yucky bitumen. However, this sort of thinking isn't reflective of what's actually going on.

Because in truth, yes, lots has been happening. Quietly in the background, our wonderful team of committee members have been working to get this garden growing. Good things take time, and this is going to be a darn good garden, by golly! We have the new soil, shed, fence and rainwater tanks pending at the moment, waiting for delivery from companies over the next few weeks. Keep your eyes peeled for another email inviting you out to some working bees. If you are interested in helping out the garden, these working bees will be a great way to get your hands dirty and meet some people in our gardening group.

We also have our design. Yes, that's right folks, a design!! I'm so excited to release this to you all, but we are going to keep it all to ourselves just a little longer. If you want a sneak peek you can come along to the Seacliff Produce Swap this Sunday, where we will be selling some saplings (courtesy of our members Jeanne and Paul).

Look out in your inboxes next week for the big reveal...!

Want to get more involved? ...Here are some dates/events for your diaries...email us if you are interested.

Also - check out our new website and let us know what you think. Information on becoming a member is also on there and we have opened up applications of interest for individual beds. This might be a long way off, but it'll be good to see how many of you are keen beans.

Thanks for reading. Let us know if you have any questions, thoughts or ideas!
